In previous years, I've posted fireworks pictures on December 31 to celebrate the coming of each new year, thinking much of the excitement happens before the calendar changes. Last year, though, I realized the logic was wrong: The celebration is for the arrival of the new year, not the departure of the old one: The fireworks come *after* midnight, not before. So, from this time forward, I'll be posting the fireworks pictures on January 1 where they can be enjoyed as part of the new year.
