Nestled in the heart of Boston, between Storrow Drive and the Charles River, the Esplanade is a prize jewel in Frederick Law Olmsted's "Emerald Necklace" - a series of parks "to which people may easily go ... [and] find the city put far away from them..." While this photo was taken less than 50 yards from the traffic on Storrow Drive that can be seen if you look carefully in the background, it's almost possible to believe it's a peaceful stream a long distance away from the bustle of the streets...
